CCD : Charge Coupled Device

It is clear that only lens are not sufficient for Canon camera to be your ultimate choice but because of the CCD, which is Charge Coupled Device. Since CCD is very sensitive to light it is the be use as a sensor to pick up light and then turn it into the image, as the image sensor. Thus, we would refer this as a actual photosensitive part of the camera.
In the it was 100 percent sure to told you that most of the CCDs are all the same as there are only small about of manufacturer. This made it the same because eventhough the brand was different the CCDs were still made by the same manufacturer. But, what that made Canon camera one of the best choich that photographer choose is that it has a wide range of CCDs provide which can help improve the quality of the photograph, video and image. Canon cameras provide a camera model with CCDs of a various range. This makes it is very easy for you to find the right canon camera type that best fitted for your work or the one you wish and then can eeasily choose what mega-pixel you would like to invest in. However in the recent year, and because of the advanced in technology Canon camera are now upgrade to a whole new level due to the introduction of the CMOS. CMOS (complementary metal-oxide semi-conductor) is a technology which can use instead of the CCDs. Through the invention of CMOS, it cause a big change in the production, price and the weight of the cameras. It also change the quality of the captured images and videos.

Different between CCDs and CMOS...

For the CCD, is that it is more sensitive than the CMOS, thus it provide you a better images in dim lighting. It is alos that CCD is able to deliveres a cleaner images than CMOS. This is because sometimes CMOS tend to have a trouble with noise and cause a small deflect in the captured photograph. On the other end, it is that CMOS is better than CCD as it is cheaper to produced, thus it would cause a lower production cost and made the Canon camearas prices to be lower. Futhermore, CMOS used up smaller amount of energy compared to the CCD. This help alot in the area of energy saving and help to increase the peroid of time for shoot the photo. In addition, not only that it is energy save that it is better than CCD but it also because of the CMOS chips would be able to perform better than CCD chip when taking the picture of a flashing and sparking stuffs, such as the jeewlry and the sunlight reflect from a water surface. CMOS is chip is better because of the fact that CCD chips have a trouble from blooming. This will made an unwanted halos around the very bright highlights, while CMOS chips would not have these problems. In conclusion, there are both pros and cons to both type of chips, CCD or COMS. However to choose is to decide which was your needs. It would be expected that more and more of Canon cameras will be using CMOS rather CCD as there are more pros to CMOS than its cons.
